yep. first order of business is to ditch that pathetic 255 Windsor.
I don’t know what was going down at both GM and Ford where their “down-bored” V8s were both equally pathetic. The 267 SBC has the same reputation as the 255 Windsor.

Especially when both started life at pretty small displacements, 265 and 221 cubic inches for the Chevy and Ford respectively. Primitive emission controls, bad head design, retarded timing, low compression and very restrictive catalytic converters were mostly to blame.
